Dry cutting is one of the development trends of metal cutting in the future, and the dry cutting technology of small modulus spiral bevel gears has been a difficult subject at
home and abroad. Recently, Jingcheng Machine Tool and a well-known foreign gear manufacturer conducted a 10-day dry cutting test on small module gears. The JCB12
spiral bevel gear milling machine, newly developed by Jingcheng Machine Tool, 1.5 cemented carbide cutter and 2 M42 coated cutter produced by domestic cutter manufacturer,
totally machined 2000 pieces of m=1.2, Z=19 and Z=41 gears. Through continuous processing, the stiffness, accuracy and tool life of the machine tool are tested comprehensively.
The test results are satisfactory and reach the international advanced level. The specific experimental data are as follows:
1. The spindle speed is 1350 revolutions, the machine tool works normally and the accuracy is stable. The test workpieces all reach grade 6, and the jump is less than 0.01 mm.
2. Z = 9 small wheel hobbing process, 1.5"carbide tool, 4 seconds per tooth processing time, tool life 1450 pieces.
3. Z = 41 big wheel cut-in process, 2 M42 coated cutter, 1.5 seconds per tooth processing time, tool life: 250 with coating, 150 without coating.
This test has been highly concerned by domestic counterparts, and give high expectations to sincere machine tools. Sincere machine tools will further break through more barriers
in an all-round way with the accumulated experience of small modulus dry cutting technology.
